The Journey So Far

2021

The Vision Was Born

The idea for Smith & Partners LP was conceptualised during a series of legal advisory collaborations.
Intensive planning and drafting of the firm's core philosophy began, focusing on trust, craftsmanship, and client-centred legal solutions.

2022

Laying the Foundation

Formal registration of Smith & Partners LP was completed.
Began pro bono work for underserved communities in Lagos to build goodwill and live out the firm's value of service.
Developed the firm's first legal templates for SMEs.

2023

Official Launch

Smith & Partners LP was officially launched with a boutique range of services in corporate law, real estate, and criminal litigation.
Hosted a well-attended inaugural networking event for clients and professionals in the legal and business communities.
Secured its first major corporate retainer with a fast-growing tech startup.

2024

Building a Reputation

Expanded practice areas to include maritime law and estate planning.
Partnered with two NGOs to provide estate structuring and criminal defence support for low-income clients.
Launched the firm's first legal insight series: "Law, Lagos & You."
Featured in The Legal Business Africa Journal as an emerging firm to watch.

2025

Strategic Growth
